SCRIP Program Information
How
it Works
SCRIP is another
word for GIFT CERTIFICATE. Our school purchases these certificates
at a discount, and then we resell them at face value. Think of it
as a corporate sponsorship of our school. If you spend $20 in cash
to purchase groceries at Safeway, THEY get $20. On the other hand,
if you use $20 SCRIP for the same purchase, Safeway only gets $19
for those same groceries, and WE get the other dollar! This program
lets the dollars that families ALREADY SPEND work for our school.

retailers and the percentage of profit the school earns from them.

When
to Order
You may place
your order online at any time through the All Saints School
website. It will be available for pick up in the location that you
selected. (Please allow about three days for processing.) Please
submit your payment when you pick up your order. Make checks payable
to All Saints School. If there is a problem with your order, please
contact Rachel Baker at (253) 686-7474.
Open SCRIP sales
are held on the morning of the first day of the week and on the
afternoon of the last day of the week at both campuses, as well
as after all Sunday Masses.

The 2007-2008

the option of buying out their SCRIP commitment at $300.00, which
needs to be turned in when you turn in your enrollment contract.
For
questions regarding the amount of SCRIP purchased for your family
this school year, please
contact Katherine Turner-Lawrence via e-mail or phone: ktlsea@comcast.net
or (253) 447-4793.
All Saints
Parishioners
SCRIP is available
for purchase after all of the Sunday Masses, or you can place
your order online and pick it up after Mass.
History
Father
John Griffin of St. Vincent in Santa Rosa, California, founded the
original SCRIP program. Their high school was considering closing
its doors due to financial reasons. The first retailer to offer
a bulk discount for gift certificates was Safeway. To benefit other
schools like St. Vincent, Fr. Griffin established The National SCRIP
Center. After Safeway, many other retailers were added to the program.
The National SCRIP Center and other SCRIP companies help nonprofit
organizations in several states raise funds for their schools.
All
Saints School began its SCRIP program in July 1995. We were initially
funded by an operating loan of $26,505. We have sold over $1,482,114.00
of SCRIP since our program's inception, resulting in over $74,350.00
of earnings. We make monthly deposits to the school operating
account. These funds go directly into operating accounts, helping
pay day-to-day expenses and salaries.
Our school is
registered with the Great Lakes SCRIP Center. Through this clearing
house, we have the purchasing power of over 3,000 non-profit organizations
and schools. Unfortunately, not all retailers belong to programs
like these. We are thankful for several local businesses that have
joined our program. You may visit the Great
Lakes SCRIP Center website to view the complete national retailer
list. If you see a retailer listed that we are not currently offering
on our ordering menu, and you would like to see them added, please
make your request known.
If you
have further questions regarding the SCRIP program, please contact
Rachel Baker at (253) 686-7474.
