I
grew up in Elmira, OR. I was always involved in a variety
of sports and outdoor activities. Through the role modeling
of my own physical education teacher in high school, I developed
a desire to teach physical education. Thus, I attended Oregon
College of Education in Monmouth, OR. While attending college,
athletics kept me motivated to do well, and the skills I learned
on the field carried over to the classroom. I learned I could
do whatever I wanted to if I was willing to set goals and
work for them. While in college, I met my future wife, Susan.
We married two years later, and I converted to Catholicism.
We have three wonderful sons: Ryan, Aaron, and Micah.
Since
graduating, I have acquired almost one hundred graduate hours.
I have coached soccer, basketball, track, football, gymnastics,
baseball, and wrestling. I have also been involved with Oregon
State Comprehensive School Health Program, and am currently
serving on the board for the School Health Association of
Washington.
I
enjoy developing my spiritual life, watching and participating
in all kinds of sports, coaching kids, carpentry, helping
people who are in need, and most of all I enjoy spending time
with my wife and sons. I enjoy the blessings and the people
God has brought into my life. |
