Sixth
Grade (6A): Mrs. Janet Topper
I am a
sixth grade teacher and have the privilege of teaching both
math and science to all of the sixth grade students.
I was
born in Columbus, Ohio, and met my husband, Jim, at the Catholic
high school where we both graduated. After high school, I
attended Walsh College, a Jesuit college, and earned my B.S.
in biology and chemistry with a minor in math. Both of my
sons were born in Ohio. Thus, we are avid Buckeye fans!

We
moved to Chicago in 1992 where I worked as a substitute teacher
at my sons’ Catholic school, as well as in the public
school system. In 1997, we moved to Washington where I worked
as a stay-at-home mom, as a daily volunteer in my children’s
school, and served as the PTO president and on the building
site committee. In 2001-2002, I attended the University of
Washington and received my teaching certification with a kindergarten
through eighth grade endorsement, as well as a fourth through
ninth grade math and science endorsement. .
In my
spare time, I love to spend time with my family, especially
watching my boys' sporting events. As a family, we love attending
professional and college football games, as well as hiking
and visiting family back in the Midwest. I am very blessed
and spoiled to have a husband who loves to cook and shop for
me. |
